Friday, December 19, 2025 - 7 p.m. - Ledgemont Court, Folsom
Join fellow members of the Sacramento Valley Shetland Sheepdog Club and their shelties (No RSVP necessary) on a holiday lights walk along Ledgemont Court in Folsom. All well-mannered members, guests and pooches are welcomed.
Ledgemont Ct. is legendary, having won numerous holiday lights competitions. CLICK HERE for directions. This event includes an easy, flat walk on a sidewalk past themed homes. Meet up at the entrance to Ledgemont Ct. If you are late and miss the group, find them inside the court. We’ll walk slowly.
Following the walk, the group will drive to Downtown Historic Folsom for hot chocolate and sweets at Snooks Chocolate Factory. There, dogs will need to stay outside of Snooks, though there is covered sidewalk sitting and more holiday lights along this authentic Gold Rush-era town's covered sidewalks. Wear warm coats - Shelties need not worry. They have them.
There is no cost to participate. Though, several of the homes along Ledgemont Ct. collect non-perishable (canned) foods for the needy. Just drop your donations in bins on the court.
The Club's annual end-of-year gathering occurs in early December at a local restaurant. It includes a general membership meeting at which officers for the following year are elected and a holiday party with fun gift exchange game occurs. It's a great get-together with lots of Sheltie stories and tips for healthy and happy dogs.
Seen above at the 2025 holiday party: Carl Skinner first selected a fine bottle of Sierra Foothills vintage 2013 Zinfandel, but that got stolen by an attentive club member. On Carl's second draw, he won lots of Sheltie treats and a lovely Santa Sheltie pillow to rest his weary head on long winter nights.
